Nancy Terrell is an internationally known and collected artist specializing in whimsical paintings and mixed media that show her love of children, fun and a “happy” way of seeing. Known as “Miss Nancy” to millions of American children on TV’s Romper Room, in the 1960s and 70s, she has continued her love of childhood and fantasy into a true love of painting, collage and design today. Nancy spent 30 years as an expiate in the Caribbean, South America, Panama, Central America, Mexico and Hawaii while cruising with her life partner, Dave Cooper, on various boats they owned. During this time Nancy worked as an International Feature Writer covering sailing, regattas and water sports for many international magazines and newspapers. She set up an art studio in the cockpit on their last boat Swan Song, a 65’ classic trawler that she and Dave cruised on, throughout the Western Hemisphere, for 18 years. She was a member of two painting groups in the British Virgin Islands, a contributor to the Tillet Gardens Arts Alive in St Thomas, Eco Art in Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela, the La Paz Art Association and the Hawaii Art Association. Having now retired to Cape Coral, Florida, Nancy belongs to the Fort Meyers Art League, the Cape Coral Art League and the Alliance for the Arts of Lee County. She now has a proper studio and can spread out her art materials.
